There
is hardly a day that in a letter or phone call this question is not
asked me. It makes me feel like Brother Peter on the day of Pentecost
when he was asked a question. "Now
when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto
Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we
do?" Acts 2:37
As the church age was beginning, the dispensation
of the gospel of grace was coming in. The fact was that the old ways
were not sufficient and that a new way of life was now to be. This
great change was bringing in a lot of questions.
Let
me tell you that the one thing on the heart of these seekers was that
they should please God and seek salvation first and foremost.
"Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?" "For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things." "BUT SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD, AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU." Matthew 6:31-33
Here
is the direct answer from the scriptures. Seek first to be able to
enter into the kingdom or come under the rule or government of God.
Submit yourself to God, then He will give you all things and everything
needed to live and then enter into the kingdom of heaven.
"Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able." Luke 13:24
Why shall they not be able? What shall prevent them from being allowed to enter? "When
once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door,
and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord,
Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you
not whence ye are:" Luke 13:25 "Not every one that sayeth unto me,
Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth
the will of my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 7:21 "Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us." "But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not." Matthew 25:11-12 "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" Luke 6:46
I
want you to hear what God instructed Abram to do. This is the pattern
of the Old Testament. This, too, is what you must do and obey to enter
into the Kingdom of heaven. "Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get
thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's
house, unto a land that I will show thee:" "And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:" "And
I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and
in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." "So Abram
departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and
Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran."
Genesis 12:1-4
Here we read of what God required of the father of faith to do.
"By
faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he
should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; AND HE WENT OUT, NOT
KNOWING WHITHER HE WENT. "By faith he sojourned in the land of
promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac
and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:" "For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God." "Through
faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was
delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him
faithful who had promised." "Therefore sprang there even of one, and
him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and
as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable." "These all died
in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar
off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that
they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth." "For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country." "And
truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came
out, they might have had opportunity to have returned." "But now
they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is
not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a
city." Hebrews 11:8-16
Then we have the account of the New Testament example, Jesus Christ. I
have said many times that the Old Testament was a pattern or blueprint
of the true worshipper or follower and the New Testament was the
example given to us through the Lord Jesus.
"Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:" "Searching
what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did
signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the
glory that should follow." 1 Peter 1:10-11 "For even hereunto were
ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example,
that ye should follow his steps:" 1 Peter 2:21
He was our
example and we should be followers; and to do that, you do as He did
and obey as He did and do the will of the Father. "For ye know the
grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your
sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich." 2
Corinthians 8:9
"So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple." Luke 14:33
"If
any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and
children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he
cannot be my disciple." "And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple." Luke 14:26-27
The
message of being a follower of Jesus Christ has become perverted and
the Jesus you hear preached today is another Jesus. It is not the one
portrayed in the scriptures. It has been the master deception of hell
to have another gospel, another Jesus preached and in this manner,
deceive many.
What is the will of God for us today? Does He really want us to obey these commands and forsake all? When
He called the disciples to follow Him, they left all to follow Him.
Remember too, that they were all young men, including Him. They forsook
all their dreams and hopes for the hope of the gospel of eternal life. "And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him." Luke 5:11
"Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee." "And
Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that
hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or
wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's," "But he
shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren,
and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions;
and in the world to come eternal life." Mark 10:28-30
What
happened that we got saved and did not know this was the price that was
to be required to keep salvation? Why, what happened was this. "But
I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his
subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is
in Christ." "For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we
have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not
received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well
bear with him." 2 Corinthians 11:3-4
"I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:" "Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ." "But
though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you
than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." "As
we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel
unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." Galatians
1:6-9
The gospel that Paul preached was the gospel of Christ or the good news on what and how anyone can be saved. "For
I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God
unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also
to the Greek." Romans 1:16
"Through mighty signs and wonders, by
the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about
unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ." Romans
15:19
"For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory
of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not
the gospel!" "For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me." "What
is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make
the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the
gospel." 1 Corinthians 9:16-18
"If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:" Ephesians 3:2
"Whereof
I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is
given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God;" Colossians 1:25
The gospel was perverted. How do they tell us, faith plus nothing. No works required to stay saved. It is true that we are not saved by works. "Not
by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his
mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the
Holy Ghost;" Titus 3:5
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" "Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
To
be saved, we needed the grace of God and the power of God to transform
us. We needed to receive the divine nature and the new heart and mind
so that we then could do what we must do to be saved. What must I do to be saved?
"Wherefore,
my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but
now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and
trembling." Philippians 2:12
"But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?" "Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?" "Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?" "And
the scripture was fulfilled which sayeth, Abraham believed God, and it
was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of
God." "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." James 2:20-24,26
"Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." "Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:9
What
is this, a contradiction? The answer is contained within the verses.
Not by faith alone, but faith with works; and not by works alone, as
then a man would boast. Faith is nothing man can produce; it is a gift
of God and to have works of faith ye must have the gift of faith from
God. You are then not saved by works, but saved to work. This is what Jesus did. "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work." John 9:4
"Believest
thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that
I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in
me, he doeth the works." "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater
works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." John
14:10,12
It is the Father that worketh. What I am trying to relate to you is that to obey is what you MUST do if you are to be a true worshipper of the Lord. The
saints have been chosen to replace the fallen angels and to restore
worship back into the eternal kingdom of heaven. They will be true
worshippers and pure in intent.
"Then cometh the end, when he
shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he
shall have put down all rule and all authority and power." 1
Corinthians 15:24
I urge all in Jesus' name that God hath given
faith to hear and receive the end time message and messenger to seek
now, with a whole heart, an entrance into the coming kingdom of heaven.
"And
in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom,
which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to
other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these
kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever." Daniel 2:44
"And I saw
another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel
to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and
kindred, and tongue, and people," Revelations 14:6
"And this
gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness
unto all nations; and then shall the end come." Matthew 24:14
"For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night." Psalms 90:4
"But,
beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the
Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." 2 Peter 3:8
"And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years," "And
cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon
him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand
years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little
season." "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment
was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for
the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not
worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark
upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned
with Christ a thousand years." "But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection." "Blessed
and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the
second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of
Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years." "And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison," Revelation 20:2-7
"Then
cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God,
even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority
and power." 1 Corinthians 15:24
Take note of the thousand years
mentioned here several times. This is the last day or the Sabbath of
God that was declared in the very beginning. It will end with God
looking over all that He has done and resting, saying, Well done; it is
good. He hath saved us and restored to His kingdom all glory and honor to Himself.
"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us," "Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, by grace ye are saved;" "And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:" "THAT
IN THE AGES TO COME HE MIGHT SHOW THE EXCEEDING RICHES OF HIS GRACE IN
HIS KINDNESS TOWARD US THROUGH CHRIST JESUS." Ephesians 2:4-7
"But
ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a
peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath
called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:" 1 Peter 2:9
Here are the commands of the Lord. 1. Get out of the cities. 2. Get out of debt. 3. Get out of the churches. 4. Get the TV out of your home. 5. Stop going to doctors. 6. Get with God's people (few in number). 7. Be prepared to wait for His coming until.
"And
when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your
heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." Luke 21:28
Maranatha.
